About Me

I started playing the sax in my early twenties as a hobby - the perfect antidote to my extremely tedious
job in a bank at the time!
I found I really enjoyed learning a new skill and the chance it gave me to be creative.
Gradually I became more serious and followed the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Jazz Grades,
reaching Grade 8. I have also passed the Associated Board of The Royal School of Music Theory grade 5.
I have busked, run a small jazz group and am now playing in the South's greatest Ska band 2Tonic!
I've met some great people through playing the sax, whether it be playing Disney tunes out busking or in front
of thousands of people at a scooter rally.
There is always something to learn when playing any instrument, which to me is the appeal of the sax
- there aren't many hobbies that can fill up a lifetime!
