Syllabus
As a rule of thumb, I teach from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama syllabus and Associated Board
music theory. This gives a coherent structure , covering posture, breathing, scales, technical exercises...
oh! and actually playing the sax as well from sheet music or improvisation.
Every student is different and it's important to me to find out what specifically interests students so that
lessons can be useful and interesting. It's far easier to learn a new scale or study if it is clear why it is
useful.
I use Band in a Box software and backing tracks to enable students to play along with other (virtual)
musicians. I also have recording and cd burning facilities, so students can track their progress.
